Split Level Backyard Landscaping Eastwood
This Eastwood landscaping project focused on transforming a large backyard into a practical, family-friendly outdoor space that could be enjoyed immediately while also allowing for future improvements. Our clients wanted a low-maintenance garden where their child could safely play, while ensuring there was enough room to install a swimming pool in the years ahead.
To achieve this, we designed and constructed a split-level backyard that made better use of the property’s natural levels and created clearly defined outdoor zones. The result is a functional landscape that looks great, is easy to maintain, and provides flexibility for the family’s changing needs.
Split Level Backyard Design with Concrete Sleeper Retaining Walls
The centrepiece of this project was the construction of a split-level backyard using concrete sleeper retaining walls. The retaining walls created a seamless transition between the patio area and the expansive lawn space above, providing both structural support and visual appeal.
By separating the entertaining area from the turfed section, we were able to create distinct outdoor living zones while maximising the usable space across the property. The large lawn area provides plenty of room for children to play and gives the homeowners the flexibility to incorporate a future swimming pool without requiring major landscaping alterations.
Careful consideration was also given to drainage and site levels to ensure the retaining walls perform well for many years to come.
Brick Pier Fence and Privacy Planting
To complement the existing home, our team also constructed a custom brick pier fence using bricks selected to closely match the house façade. The new front fence enhances the property’s street appeal and creates a clean, cohesive appearance that ties the landscape and home together.
To complete the project, we installed a selection of carefully chosen privacy plants throughout the garden. As these plants mature, they will create a natural green screen, improving privacy while softening the hard landscaping elements. Combined with the new turf and retaining walls, the planting scheme helps create a welcoming and family-friendly outdoor environment.
